Hollace
(Holly) S. Bailey, PE, CIAQP, CIE, CMR
Holly Bailey is a past president of the Indoor Air Quality
Association (IAQA), and an active member of various
societies, including the American Society of Heating,
Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) and
the American Industrial Hygiene Association (AIHA). She
holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from
Florida Atlantic University, and has an extensive knowledge
of building science and indoor air quality (IAQ) issues.
This is complemented by an impressive 27 years of mechanical
engineering experience.
During her career, Holly has addressed innumerable heating,
ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) and IAQ related
issues while working on hundreds of residential, commercial,
industrial and governmental projects. Much of her expertise
in the field of IAQ has been gathered while supervising and
managing projects and designing successful remediation
protocols. She has made a tremendous contribution to the
indoor air quality industry, and has helped to create
documents, standards and policies that underpin the
activities that are considered to be good practice within
the industry. She has repeatedly been asked to act as an
expert witness in different legal cases, and now has a
reputation for presenting complicated information in ways
that allow it to be easily understood. She enjoys sharing
her knowledge and, as well as teaching at ASHRAE and IAQA
meetings, has given seminars and classes around the country.
She is part of ASHRAE’s Mold and Mildew Task Force,
and also sits on a number of other committees for the
association.
Holly has created this book as a reference guide for those
who want to better understand the various aspects of mold
growth in buildings. She lives in South Florida with her
husband Ronald, where they own and run a leading engineering
firm.
